Penguins @ 千里山田校
ペンギンズクラスがスタートしました。
今日は記念すべき1日目の様子をご紹介します。
Welcome everyone to a new year in Penguins!
これが今日1日の予定です。
Our schedule for the day is filled with many fun activities.
みんながそろったら、まずはサークルタイム！
英語の歌を歌ったり、踊ったり、名前を呼ばれたら返事をしたりします。
初めてなのにみんなきちんと座って話を聞いていて、先生たちはびっくりです。
First, we have Circle Time. This is when we start to learn English.
その後はお茶を飲んで一休み。
自分たちの水筒を先生や友達に嬉しそうに見せている子もいました。
After Circle Time we have our first Tea Time of the day.
次はライティングの時間です。
先生に紙と鉛筆をもらって好きなものを描きました。みんな黙々と夢中になって取り組んでいます。
On this day we then did writing.
外遊びでは全員で砂遊びをしました。
ごはんに、ケーキに、かき氷に、お山！楽しすぎてみんな泥んこ！
「明日は三輪車にも乗りたいな〜」と、すでに明日に期待をふくらませていました。
Our last activity before lunch is always outside. We love to play in the sandbox and make many things for our classmates.
たくさん遊んだらお腹がペコペコです。
先生のまねっこをしてランチの歌を歌ったら、さぁ、召し上がれ！
Our last big activity for the day is lunch.
これからみんなで、毎日一緒に過ごしていくのがとても楽しみになった1日でした。

Welcome to Monkey Town!
街を作ろう！
This month’s theme is the community and our environment, so we decided to explore the idea of cities and the buildings and services available! We went through our places vocabulary and taped the cards to a giant road map!
After we explored building placement, we talked about how we can make our own buildings to put on this really fun and big map!
今月のテーマはコミュニティについてです。
そこでmonkeysの街を作ることにしました！
まずは街にはどんな店や建物があってどんな物が買えたり、出来たりするのかについて話し合いました。
As we talked about our ideas and what buildings we wanted to make, the children began, and they drew so many different buildings!
次に、どんなお店や建物を街に作りたいのかを一人ひとりが考え、絵を描きました！

On March 7th, the Nursery, Pre-K jr., and Pre-K had a pancake and pajama party!
All the students looked so happy with their own pajamas at school!
Nursery, Pre-K jr., Pre-K クラスでパジャマ＆パンケーキパーティーを行いました。
パジャマで登園しニコニコ笑顔のこどもたち。
We celebrated the Pancake day by making pancakes. We put some pancake mix, eggs and milk in the bowl and mix them together!
英国やアイルランド、スコットランドに古くから伝わるパンケーキ・デイのお祝いもかねて、みんなでパンケーキを作りました(*パンケーキ・デイの詳細について)。パンケーキミックスに卵と牛乳を混ぜて生地を作ります。一人ずつ先生と一緒に生地をホットプレートに流し入れました。
Flip the pancake! They look so yummy!
表面に気泡が出てきたら裏返す合図です。さっきと同じように先生と一緒にパンケーキを裏返すと、、、とてもおいしそうなパンケーキの出来上がり！
While students were making pancakes with teachers, they listened to the teachers’ instructions very well and followed the rules; “Please do not touch the hotplate because it is very dangerous!”
ジムでは、クラフトの時間に作った自分たちのフライパンとパンケーキを使ったパンケーキレースやパンケーキトスといった様々なゲームをして楽しみました。
It’s time to eat our pancakes! They all liked it and enjoyed the party!
パジャマでピクニックランチをした後は、待ちにまったパンケーキタイムです！ブルーベリージャムやストロベリージャムのトッピングをつけて、みんなおいしそうにペロリと平らげていました。

Pancake Day – Shrove Tuesday
In the UK, there is a festival known as Shrove Tuesday, or more commonly, Pancake Day. Long ago, people used to stop eating sugar or butter in the days before Easter and needed to finish what they already had. For that reason, it became popular to make pancakes the day before Lent (40 days before Easter).
Nowadays, many people don’t care about Lent, but it is still popular to make pancakes on the Tuesday 40 days before Easter. Today we are teaching the children about the festival by making (and eating) pancakes, having pancake races with frying pans we made in craft time, and by having a pancake toss competition, something still commonly done in the UK.
We are also having a pajama party, just for fun! The children have the chance to show their pajamas off to their friends in a fashion show!

We’ve been having so much fun outside playing
Games such as tag and catch me.
いつも元気なLionsは、外遊びの時間が大好きです。
Here the children made up their own game
They did a great job of thinking about the all important Rules.
こども達はよく、自分たちで独自のゲームを考えます。ルールも自分たちで考えます。
The lions class love to use the bikes and cars
To patrol the playground and make sure everyone is playing nicely.
Lionsは自転車に乗るのも大好きです。さぁ、園庭をパトロールしますよ！みんな仲良く遊んでいるかな？
In lions class we love to use the swings and are very good at
waiting our turn.
またブランコも大人気です。ちゃんと順番を守っています。さすがKBですね！

Geckos @ 高槻茨木校
For our last blog we wanted to show everyone how much we've grown! Even during free play the geckos are developing their emotional and social skills by interacting with friends and participating in group play! Let's take a look at some of the fun times we had playing, growing and learning together!
サークルタイムの前やランチの後、お外遊びの時間は、こどもたちにとっては自由に遊べて、自分で考え行動できる力を養う事のできる大切な時間です。
最近ではその自由遊びの中で、自らお友だちに声を掛けたり、一緒に遊んだりと、こども達同士の関わりがずいぶん増えてきました。
"Look! I made a giraffe!" "I made a house!" By the end of the year we could hear the students having lots of conversations with each other and sharing their toys...
お互いに作ったものを見せ合ったり、おもちゃをシェアしたり・・・
And having fun working together to build various things...
みんなで協力してブロックを組み立てたり・・・
Giving instructions to friends or asking questions...
指示を出したり、何を作っているのかを尋ねてみたり・・・
Helping our friends by pushing them on the bicycle...
自転車が速く進むように、後ろから押してあげたり・・・
Taking turns chasing after each other...
順番に鬼になって、追いかけっこをしたり・・・
And caring for our friends if they were sad by saying, "Are you okay?"...
悲しくて泣いているお友だちを見ると、"Are you okay?"と声をかけハグをしてあげたり・・・
Also, the geckos have all become teacher's helpers by reminding their friends of the rules and helping each other be super!! Good job geckos! You are all SUPER!!
誰かが間違った事をしてしまったときは、こども達同士で注意ができるようにもなってきました。
お友だちとの関わりの中で、物事の良し悪しを再確認し、相手を思いやる気持ちも芽生え、みんな心身ともに大きく成長できたGeckosでの半年間でした。
