Movers -Takatsuki Ibaraki School-

This month we started learning a new unit all about colors,
We started off by going on a color hunt touching objects around our class and making full sentences.

We looked at various patterns and using adjectives and colors the children described these.

The children enjoyed copying a pattern and then coloring this using colors of their choice.

Movers -Yamada School-

The Movers are using the Oxford Discovery 1 textbook.
The first unit is called “What makes a good friend?”
One of the activities from this unit is to draw a picture of their favorite thing.

Their finished drawings include plenty of dinosaurs and princesses.
The students took turns presenting their picture to the class and explaining why this picture will make their friend happy.

Another activity during the first unit of their new textbook was to look at the members in our family and decide if they are a “female member” or a “male member.”
The students were surprised that some family members can be both. For example, baby, cousin, or twin.

Flyers -Senrioka School-

Hello everyone! It’s been a great first month for the Flyers class on Wednesdays. The unit was about having fun and the students learned about different cultures and festivals from around the world. The students have been reading text passages, doing listening exercises, and having discussions on the topic. The students have been very expressive and shared their thoughts on fun activities. The students have also made posters about an event which is fun and made class presentations. They also invented their own game with rules they created by themselves. They also got to enjoy the Easter party for after school students. It’s been a fun month for everyone and we’re looking forward to another! Thank you for your support!

One of our final projects, which tied into the theme of fashion was to design our own t-shirts and then actually make them. We wrote about why we designed them the way we did, and then about why we thought our actual product didn't always match our plans.

Here we are working together to create an impromptu celebration for one of our classmates who graduates into middle school this April. This class worked really well as a team and often helped each other throughout the year!

Every class we worked in our books practicing our reading, writing, speaking and listening skills.

Here we are creating maps of our own islands!

We looked at magazines and talked about pictures we wanted to add to the maps of our islands! Then we cut them out.

Then we drew outlines of our islands, added paths, a key of the many things that were on our islands, glued pictures from magazines and added our own drawings!

Here are some examples of our great islands!
