2013 Sports day
5月25日は天候に恵まれ、こどもも大人も存分にスポーツを楽しみました。

Not only the children but also the teachers had relay race! Go, go!
Representatives from each class received the trophy at the closing ceremony.

吹田市里親道路プロジェクト ＠千里山田校
People from Suita city came to see the Rainbow garden.
Global Village 千里山田校では、吹田市の“里親プロジェクト（街並み美化）”に参加し、Rainbow Gardenを作り管理しています。
その様子を、市民の方々が視察に来られました。こどもたちは英語と日本語で説明し、あたたかいまなざしで聞いてくださいました。
これからもしっかり花の世話をしていきます!!

Koalas ＠千里山田校
Learning and pride
After reading the Hungry Caterpillar book the class was shown how a bar graph works. And what their had to do the idea behind this excise is to introduce math in a fun way.
これは何？ りんごですね APPLE を探します。
りんごは何色？ 赤？ じゃありんごを赤くぬろう。
The classmate did a great job helping each other before they asked Mika or myself.
The koalas students taking pride in the job of cleaning our room this excise is the first one to help them learn that all jobs can be done better and quicker if we all work together as a team.
金曜日、教室の雑巾がけをしました。雑巾を水につけて、
良く絞って順番に床に雑巾をおいて…みんなでスタート！

Painting Flowers
To help students understand how Spring time is a very important time for plants and flowers to grow, students first learned about the life cycle of plants.
We learned about seeds, soil, roots and stems.
Once we discussed the parts of a flower, we then got ready for some fun painting!
今月のテーマにそって、植物のライフサイクルについて学びました。
Students first chose the colored paper they wanted to use. Afterwards, we looked again at a picture of a flower to help give us an idea of what to paint.
植物に関するいろいろなこと、そして関連した単語を学んだ後は、いよいよ絵画の時間です。
Children were encouraged to be creative, and to paint any way they wanted.
好きな色を選びながら、思い思いの花を描きます。
After they painted, we discussed which insects like flowers, and why.
We then took origami paper and learned how to make a butterfly, so that we can glue it beside the flower!
途中、自分作った蝶のことをイメージできるよう、ひらひら登場させました。
Children had a wonderful time learning about the life cycle and parts of plants, as well as what insects like flowers and why.
最後に折り紙で折った蝶をのりで貼り付けできあがりです。

Daycare ＠千里山田校
DaycareのLittle teamが先生と楽しそうなゲームをジムでしていましたよ！
「Let's run to the green mat！」
マナミ先生がタオルでできた魔法の杖を振ると・・・
「Everyone let's crawl to the red mat！！」
ゲームをしている時の子どもたちの集中力は凄いですね！
みんないっぱい汗をかきながら、楽しんでいました。
