The weather is getting colder and it is time to do some planting for when Spring comes around.
So we have decided to plant some Tulips, in great expectation of seeing a wonderful bloom in Spring.

季節は寒い冬に突入しましたが、今日は暖かな春に向けて、チューリップの球根を植えました。
今は落ち葉が美しい私たちの園庭ですが、春には美しい花々が笑顔で迎えてくれそうです！

First our teacher talked to us about the steps needed to plant our Tulip bulb球根 correctly. First we spread compost堆肥 on the bottom of our planter box followed by lots of soil.土 The compost and soil felt great on our hands – the soil was very soft and smelt funny.

まずは、球根の植え方についてお話を聞きました。ポットの下に堆肥を敷いて、その上に沢山の土を入れて…。

「これくらいの量でいいかなぁ？」こどもたちは両手を使って慎重に、丁寧にポットに入れていきました。





After filling our planter boxes with soil and compost we made a hole with our fingers. Our teacher explained that when planting a Tulip we used a 'bulb' and not seeds. The bulb is bigger and has a 'pointy' end which must stick up.

準備が整ったら、球根の登場です！大きいね。種とは違うものだということも教わりました。
尖ったほうと丸いほう、どっちが上なんだろう？球根をもらったこどもたちは不思議そうに観察していました。



We pushed the bulb into our hole and then covered it with more soil.

寒くないように、球根を土でカバーしてあげます。大事な大事な自分だけのチューリップです。



We plan to look after it very good and make sure that it grows big and strong. We can't wait to see the Tulip colours in Spring.
