March in the Rabbits Class
We had a lot of fun during the last few weeks in Rabbits class ! On March 12th, while the KA and KB classes went on an excursion, the Nursery to Pre-K classes had a "Teddy Bears Picnic" themed day at school. In the morning each class went to a different classroom for Circle Time, to get used to the idea of being in a new room from April. We went to the Geckos classroom, which was quite exciting for the short-stay children, as they had rarely been there before !
One of the games we played was a musical card game, to practice "Occupations" vocabulary. We arranged our chairs in a circle, and the teachers placed a "secret card" under each one. Then we walked / jumped / danced around the circle, and when the music stopped, we quickly sat down on a chair and named the picture on the "secret card". We did this several times, so that we could get to name different cards.
Rabbits class 最終日前日のお楽しみ会でも、保護者の皆様と一緒に楽しんだゲームの一つです。子ども達は音楽が止まるまでノリノリで椅子の周りをジャンプしながら歩きます。
We know a few songs about bears, so we sang "Here Comes A Bear" and "Rockabye Your Bear" with our teddy bears (or favourite toys!) during Circle Time as well !
お気に入りのぬいぐるみとのダンスは、いつもの倍楽しめたようでした。
Later on, all the classes gathered in the gym for some stories, singing and dancing. In this picture we are listening to Rachel reading "Going on a Bear Hunt", and we are joining in the actions with our teddy bears.
みんなで楽しく歌ったり、中庭でランチを食べたり、特別な一日となったようです。
During the last week of school we practiced using scissors for the very first time, as we will sometimes be using them in Pre-K Junior class. We cut long strips of colourd paper into small pieces, which was easy for some of us, but took longer for others. Learning to use scissors is a big new callenge for us !
普段、スクールではあまり使うことがなかったはさみでしたがしっかり約束を守り、上手に使うことができました。
As we have been learning all about people and places in our community this month, we used the coloured paper to make mosaic pictures of a townscape. We glued red paper onto the fire station, yellow onto the bus stop, green onto the park, etc.
今月のトピックにちなんで学んできた町でみる職種や場所。子ども達は大変興味がある様子で楽しく取り組んでいました。
Finally we got to play with the townscape we created ! We also made small cardboard people such as fire fighters, police officers and doctors so that we could play out scenarios in our "community".
小さな町が出来上がり、みんなで人形ごっこのように作ったもので遊びました。Rabbits class最後のクラフトとなりましたが、はさみ、のり、色分け、ロールプレイ、まさに一年の集大成となった活動でした。
We have had a wonderful year in Rabbits class, and are very proud of all the things the children have achieved. We will miss them very much, and wish them all the best for Pre-K Junior !
