Pumpkin Carving @ 高槻茨木校
いよいよハロウィーンパーティーが迫った10月30日、ジムに皆が集まりました。机の上にはオレンジの大きなカボチャがあります。みんなで本物のJack-o-lantern を作ろう！
Jack-o-lanternを作りたい人ー？！スゴイ！みんな大きな声だね！
“Who likes Halloween” the children are asked. “Sorry can’t hear you” Simon says, “Who likes Halloween.” “We do!” comes the great big voice.
じゃぁ顔のデザインを書こうかな？みんな、このJack-o-lanternの顔のパーツって、何の形で出来ているかな？
What shape are his eyes, and every one shouts out “triangle!” And his nose “triangle!”
What about his mouth.” Triangle” was the reply every time.
「さんかくーーーーっ！！！」
Everyone told Simon that his eyes nose and mouth are scary because they are shaped like triangles. Why is he scary?
Lionsのこどもはみんなの前でも積極的に質問に答えます。さすがですね！
What do you think is it? Its small, it’s white and orange and it’s also very slimy. All the children guessed it was the seeds. “Well done to you all!”
目・鼻・口をくり抜いたよ、次はみんなの助けが必要な一番のお楽しみです・・・！
Let’s all sing the Jack-o-lantern song. It goes like this “Eyes, nose and mouth, nose and mouth.” “Eyes, nose and mouth, nose and mouth and no ears.”
カボチャの中身取り出すぞ！大きくって平たい種がいっぱい出てきました。にゅるにゅる、ねちゃねちゃで変なかんじ！
The children were so fascinated with what was inside the pumpkin they could not wait to put their hands in and have a rummage around. It was so slimy.
種を取っておいてみんなで観察するクラスもあるようです。明日、出来上がったJack-o-lanternと一緒に写真を撮る予定です。お楽しみに！
The children loved to talk about the seeds from the pumpkin, some of them even wanted to plant them and watch them grow for the next Halloween.
