Purple Class -Yamada School-
Our textbook is Oxford Discover 2. This is used as our main source of study. For each chapter, we always build up and expand our activities so that everyone can actively participate in speaking, reading and even moving their bodies! For instance when we studied a chapter called 'How Music Makes Us Feel', we tried these related activities.
We read the text and asked each other questions so that we can freely express our thoughts in English.
Children looked at actual instruments to listen to the different sounds they make. We chose some instruments and played them to the music.
Dancing to different music was a fun way to discover how music makes us feel. Children danced to fast and slow music.
We wrapped up the chapter with reading a book about feelings. We discussed when we feel happy, sad, excited or bored etc.
Various activities help children engage better in what we are learning and make our lessons more fun!
