Flyers 2 -Takatsuki Ibaraki School-

This month Flyers 2 have been learning all about poetry. We studied four different types of poems and wrote our own original acrostic poem which we made into posters which will be displayed soon at the school. This topic allowed us to express our own individual ideas in a way that can be difficult in other topics, so it was great to see the children have the freedom to explore their own interests and passions using their English to create something beautiful.

They also sat their practice tests for the YLE exams, they were pretty tough but gave everyone a good idea of what to expect in the real tests later in the year. It also gave everyone a chance to asses their own strengths and weaknesses so that they help to tailor their own learning so that they can succeed at improving their English!

Whilst it has been a busy month we’ve also tried to have as much fun as we can too, the children really enjoy asking each other questions which led us to the game ‘Guess Who’. This game is so much fun to play and requires everyone to use their English so it’s a win-win, they get to play and study at the same time! We’ll be exploring more games to use during our little ‘Brain Breaks’ in-between lessons.
Good work Flyers 2!
