After School Movers
May
The Grade 1 class on Mondays have gotten off to a good start where we are developing relationships with people we have never interacted with before.
It is fun to be able to work with a variety of students that gives their own significant flavor to the group.
All of the Grade 1 students were very excited when new students started to enroll in our class on Mondays!
We are also looking forward in having another students enroll next month!
We are trying to create an environment where all of the students have the mind set of helping each other to improve.
It is very interesting in how they influence each other in expanding their English abilities.
３月に卒園下ばかりのGrade1のこども達です。
別々の小学校でも、こうやってアフタースクールで顔を合わせる事ができるのはとても良い刺激になりますね！
月曜日のGrade 1のクラスでは、こども達同士でわからない所を助け合う姿も見受けられます。
日々の成長が見え、これからがとっても楽しみです。

Tigers ＠ 千里山田校
This year in Tigers class we will be doing a lot of work on our reading skills.
One of the ways we want to encourage the children is to allow them to go to the library and spend time trying to read books that they choose themselves.
タイガースでは、リーディングの時間をたくさんとっています。
図書室では、自分で好きな本を選び自分自身のペースで読んでいます。
We will also have a lot of different subjects we study, like Science.
This month we have been talking about stars and star constellations.
In May we learned what our Zodiac sign is and got to color a picture of it.
そして、更にクラスでは星について学んでいます。
馴染みのある星座の事もみんなで話をしました。
We also try and use a lot of fun interactive games during circle time to let the children teach each other.
クラスでするゲームは、こども達同士で教え合っている姿も見受けられます。
This month we have been talking about magnets and magnitisim, so we incorporated that into our lessons using magnets to stick things to the board.
今月は磁気について学んでいてマグネットを使ってボードに張り付けたりして話合っています。
We also try to focus on teamwork and working together to find the answers.
みんなで何かを一緒にすることでチームワークの大切さを学んでもらいっています。
But it’s not all work in Tigers class!
We also go to the gym for a break to play games like WATERMELON!
The children had to scoot around on their but and try not to be turned into a watermelon.
でも勉強ばかりしているわけではありませんよ！休み時間にはジムでスイカに変身して遊んでいます！
みんなスイカに変身してしまわないようにしっかりおしりをフロアーにくっつけて！

Bears ＠ 千里山田校
Part of the fun of classes with older children is getting into science and experiments.
As we look at the world around us we have done some experiments looking at the difference in liquids such as water, seawater and even slime.
Recently we did an experiment making lava lamps.
We used colored water, oil and salt to replicate the look of volcanic lava.
実験を通じて世界でどんなことが起こっているのかを感じてもらうために水、食塩水、スライムを使ってランプを作りました。
The children really enjoyed seeing the reaction when the salt poured through the oil and water making some crazy shapes and bubbles.
塩分と油が分解することによって不思議な形になったり、泡ができたり
Lots of fun.
こども達はそんな化学反応を楽しんでいました。
But being KB students we always remember to clean up after everything we do.
As the children get to know used to life in the Bears class, they are also learning to take good care of their classroom and their things.
We've looked at our taking care of our boxes and bags and learned one of the future chores waiting for us in elementary school.
Look at us zipping around! This is actually pretty fun!

The last day of May is our Sports Day. During Gym Time, we practiced some games for this fun filled occasion!
5月の最後の日は運動会でした。ジムの時間ではこの楽しい行事、運動会の練習を行いました！
First we lined up and listened to the rules for 'Running Race'.
まずはみんなで並んでかけっこのルールを聞きます。
To Shota's whistle, we ran so fast.
ショータの笛で力いっぱい走ります。
Like wind through the white tape!
みんなが速過ぎて風がゴールテープを突っ切っている様です！
Next is 'Catching the Tail'.
Two teams are trying to grab each other's tail.
We are ready for this!
次はしっぽ取りゲームです。
二つのチームに別れてしっぽを取り合います。
もうみんな準備万端です！
How many tails can you take?
何本のしっぽを取れたかな？
If your tail is gone, teachers will give you a new one!
しっぽを取られても大丈夫、また新しいしっぽをもらえます！
Now teachers are counting to see which team won.
さて、どっちのチームがたくさん取れたかな？
On Sports Day, we will dance with mommy and daddy too.
After running, we drank lots of water!
運動会当日には親子ダンスもあります。
走った後にはたくさん水分補給をします！
