Nursery @千里丘校
今日は雪だるまを作りました。
雪だるまの絵本を読んで、みんなの大好きなSnowflakesの歌も歌いました。
ねんどをこねて、ポンポン！
目、鼻、口、手、ボタンそして帽子をのせたら出来上がり！
すると、こどもたちが「We need scarf!!」と言って雪だるまにマフラーを巻いてあげました。
こどもたちは絵本で読んだのをしっかりと覚えていました。
What better way for our stundents to have fun learning about their shapes, sizes, colors and different body parts than to build their very own "snowman"! So appropriate for the winter season too!
They pushed and pounded their playdough to make the smowman's body and then pushed different colored pegs/blocks and pipe cleaners to add its' facial and body parts and not to forget, it's hat and scarf too.
As you can see, difinitely no two snowmen are alike.
We can thank our unique and creative little artists for that!

Happy New Year!
あけましておめでとうございます！
The theme for January is Myth and Fairy Tales. So the Gecko Class has been doing activities with the story "Jack and the Beanstalk"!
１月は【おとぎばなし・神話】がテーマという事で、Ｇｅｃｋｏｓでは日本でも有名な“Jack in the beanstalk （ジャックと豆の木）”というお話をもとに様々なアクティビティをしました。
We are all sitting so nicely and quietly. In the story the scary giant likes to eat little children. "Fee Fi Fo Fum!!"
Were you scared?
みんなカーペットに座って、集中して話を聞くことができるようになってきました。ストーリーの展開にあわせてこども達の表情も変化します！
Here's Jack climbing up the beanstalk! We practiced holding our colored pencils properly and coloring inside the lines.
しっかり線の中に色をぬれるかな？鉛筆の持ち方にも注意しながら色を塗りました。
"What shape is this?" "It's a rectangle!" We put together lots of colorful shapes to make the castle on the clouds! "Put the square in the middle and then the rectangles on the sides." We did a great job listening to the instructions and making our own castles! It was lots of sticky sticky fun!
三角、四角、長方形を使って、絵本に出てくるお城を作ります。それぞれの形を英語で言いながら、画用紙にのり付けしていきます。
綿を画用紙に貼り付けるときに、指にのりと綿がくっついてベタベタするのがおもしろい感触だったようです。
Jack gets some magic beans from the old man on the way to the market. We got some magic beans too! Let's count them! We worked on placing the magic beans on the black dots and practicing our counting.
本物の豆を紙皿の黒い点の上に置いていきます。
おっとっと！お皿に置いた豆は少し触れただけでも、簡単に動いてしまいます！
数が多くなるにつれて難しくなりますが、何度もトライするうち豆を一つずつ数えられるようになってきました。
We had so much fun! Let's read lots of stories at home too!
この機会に、家でもたくさんのおとぎ話を読んであげてくださいね。
