Summer profit
Thank you very much for all of your help during the Summer Festival. We did very well which allowed us to get a new reading center! We have a nice bookshelf, a nice mat and some seats for us to truly enjoy our time reading and looking at picture books.
去年の夏祭りでは、保護者の皆様の御協力のおかげでカナダブースも日本のブースも大盛況を受け、おかげさまでジュニアクラスに図書コーナーを設けることができました。素敵なカラフルな本棚、こども達がくつろいで本を読める空間を作る明るいカラーのマットと、たくさんの本などの収納可能な椅子を揃えました。
Junior class is really happy to have this new area in the classroom. Reading is such an important love in everyone’s life so having a great environment full of bright and colourful is very important. There are now lots of books perfect for junior class and a nice new reading corner for them to sit and read at.
ジュニアクラスに図書コーナーを設けることで、ゆっくりくつろいで読書を楽しめる空間を作ることができました。気づくとこどもたちは、自然に図書コーナーに足を運び、絵本を開き、絵本をみて楽しんでいます。読み終わると、本棚に自分で片づけます。この空間を作ることで、こども達は以前以上に絵本に興味を持ち、絵本に費やす時間が多くなりました。
ご協力いただきまして本当にありがとうございました。

Butterflies @千里山田校
We held a tug of war tournament.
We divided into 4 teams of 5 members and competed against each other.
Two teams played and two teams cheered.
We discussed sportsmanship both before and after the games.
ジムで、トーナメント形式の綱引きをしたのですが、とても盛り上がりました！
まず最初に、Douglas先生からお話。
「What did your daddy play at sports day?」と聞かれると、
「Tsunahiki~!」と即答のこども達。
では、英語では何と言うのかな？の質問には迷い顔でしたが、
「A tug of war」と言うんだよと教わり、綱引きをする上での注意事項を聞いている時も、みんなソワソワ綱引きをするのを待ちきれない様子です。
みんな、真剣にお話を聞いています。早く綱引きがしたいね！
準備はOK?
応援にも熱がこもります。
勢い余って転んじゃう子も！みんな、頑張れ！
After each game both teams lined up and shook hands and told the other team "good job".
On one occasion one of the kids was crying because their team lost, when they were shaking hands another child whispered to them for a little while in comfort and everyone walked away smiling.
トーナメントが終わった後には、お互いをたたえ合う意味も込めて、「Good Job!」と言いながら握手をしました。
チームが負けて悔し泣きをする子もいましたが、その握手の時に、別チームの友達に耳元でそっと声を掛けられると、すぐに落ち着きを取り戻している姿も見られました。
「It's ok!」とでも声掛けしてくれたのでしょうか♪
最後には、み～んな笑顔で楽しい綱引きの時間を終える事が出来ました♪
