Since the beginning of September our class has moved up a level to Pre-K Junior.
We have been learning some new things.
One of the new things we have been working on is writing.
We have been practicing how to hold our pencils and make shapes.
ペンギンズは9月からPre-K Juniorに進級しライティングの時間が始まりました。
鉛筆を握る事に心をウキウキさせながらまずは点と点を結ぶ事からスタートしました。



Our shape today was a circle. We started at the top...
この日は円を描く事にチャレンジです！



And worked our way around.
枠にそって慎重に・・・



Some of us enjoy writing so much that we made as many circles as we could.
楽し過ぎて、こんな風になる子もいます。



The more writing we do the more difficult shapes we will be able to make.
Very soon we'll even be able to write our own names!
回を重ねるごとに少しずつ難しい事に挑戦しています。自分の名前を書ける日も近いかな？

Autumn is coming! The leaves will be changing colours soon so Junior Class has started learning about autumn colours by making our own changing foliage.
First up! We made our tree trunk.
茶色の画用紙を手でちぎって、貼り、みんなで木の幹を作りました

Rip, tear and stick!
Next up, exploring texture and colour by mixing red, yellow and orange on our hands to make the leaves. Every single leaf is different, just like us! Each helps the other, just like we do!


絵の具を手に塗って、手形を作りました。おともだちがほかのおともだちの手に塗ってあげたりしていて、思いやり助け合いの力もうまれました。


手形ペイントから発展して、新聞にもペイントもしました。
Uh oh! We ran out of white paper but we still wanted to paint so out came some newspaper. Junior class really loves to make things every day.
After the paint dried, Kristy and Akiko cut all of the leaves out for us and then we could fill in the top of our tree.


みんなの手形を切り取ったら、あらまぁ、葉っぱになりました。


ジュニアクラスのみんな全員力を合わせて一つの大きな木が出来上がりました。
Working together we have made this beautiful tree! We are very happy with our work this week!

みんな外遊びが楽しみです！





In the midst of all this play, we are still learning.
We develop our motor skills through learning how to swing on the swings by ourselves, pedaling bikes, and using the climbing wall.
We also learn how to share and wait our turn.
Playing in the sandbox exercises our creativity: sand can become anything we want it to be, from cakes to castles.
外遊びの時間はみんなは遊んでるだけですが、実はたくさんの事を学んでいます。ブランコを自分で漕いだり、三輪車に乗ったり、クライミングの壁を登ることで運動技能を発達させています。自分の順番まで待つことやお友達と一緒に使うという事も学んでいます。砂場では砂でケーキやお城を作り、創造力を鍛えています。










The children love to play outside anytime, but the teachers are much happier now that summer is over and the temperatures are cooler!
子どもたちはいつでも外遊びが大好きですが、先生たちにとっては夏が終わって涼しくなった今、外遊びをより楽しめるようになりました！
