Great Big Bus Adventure!
みんなが乗りたくて仕方がなかったスクールバスに乗りました！
What’s more fun than a bus full of Monkeys? Nothing! A bus full of Monkeys is the best thing you could ever have, and so, we picked up our wooden coins, and went to the Bus Tickets Office! The man at the shop was really loud and scary when he said ‘WELCOME TO MY STORE!!!!’ but the Monkeys asked him to say it in a nice voice, and then he wasn’t scary any more.
バスチケット持っていますか？？え！？持ってない！？まずはバスチケットを買わなくっちゃね！
Now that the man at the store was friendly and not using a monster voice, the Monkeys could all buy their bus ticket!
“Welcome to my store!”
“I want to buy a ticket please”
“Here you are!”
“Thank you!”
It was very nice, but sometimes the man forgot, and used another monster voice, and the Monkeys reminded him to speak nicely.
「Can I buy a bus ticket please?」と大きな声で言えたMonkeysたち。おもちゃのコインもバスチケット屋のエリックに渡せました。
With our bus hats happily on our heads, and tickets in hand, the Monkeys were ready to board the bus! “Are you ready? Show me your tickets! Okay! Let’s go!!!”
バスチケットを手を持ってハイチーズ！頑張って作った帽子もきまっています！楽しみだね！
The bus driver took our tickets as we got on the bus. Eric didn’t have a ticket! He did have a bus pass for Takatsuki City Bus though, and the bus driver said that was okay. Phew!
バスドライバーのTatsunoriさんにバスチケットを渡していよいよです！
Driving through West Takatsuki and Ibaraki was so much fun! The Monkeys looked out the windows and saw lots of important places around town! We saw a Post Office, a Police Box, factories and grocery stores too! We saw big houses, little houses, and very big apartment complexes. As we drove past the train tracks, a train went past, which was fun to see!
バスの中からは色々な景色が見えました。友だちとにこにこ顔を見合わせている子、じーっと景色を見ている子、何が見えたか教えてくれる子、みんな思い思いに楽しみました！

Having Fun Learning With Insects
This month has been a really fun month learning about all the types of insects!
But that is not all we have been learning. Children were put into groups, and the classroom was divided into 3 Workstations. Each group would spend time at a workstation, and then move to the next when finished. We had a lot of fun!
今月のテーマ、虫の教材を使って３つのコーナー遊びを楽しみました。
First, the students were given directions on what to do for each special table.
We reviewed the life cycles of insects, and we learned what syllables are!
どのように教材を使うか、みんな真剣に説明を聞いています。
The first table had the students look at the picture, and read the words. They had to count how many syllables were in the word, and put the picture in the right category of 1,2 or 3 syllables. They did a great job, and had a lot of fun clapping and reading the word to count the syllables!
このコーナーでは虫の名前とその音節の数を見つけ出し、箱の１、２、３にカードを入れていきます。
Here, students had cards of Butterfly, Ant, Bee and Spider. They had to put the puzzle together, and to put the life cycle cards in the correct category! This was a great way to review our lessons on insect life cycles!
ここでは、虫のライフサイクルを順番通りならべます。
Children were given a random amount of colored toy bugs, where they had to put them in the correct colored category, and count each group, and write down the number in the colored section. This helped build their confidence in counting and categorizing.
３つ目は、虫の数を数えて横に数字を書きます。
Students had a lot of fun doing these workshops! KA will be doing a lot more of these fun and educational activities through out the months!
それぞれの遊び方をしっかり理解した上で、楽しく教材遊びができました。
