Helping towards summer festival



The class was given the task of making the displays by themselves we gave the choice of things to make them from and this is what they picked.
サマーフェスティバルでKOALA組はカレーとブーメランをクラスブースで販売します。いつも使っている教室をブースにするので、クラスを訪れる人たちに喜んでもらえるように、みんなで飾り付けをすることにしました。





The class did a great job they did everything in small groups and organized so that each group did one area. The idea was to let them be the teachers for the project.
それぞれの手を好きな色に塗って、大きな紙にぺたっとすると、ハンドプリントの出来上がりです。自分の位置を確認しながら、みんなとても丁寧に作っています。色を混ぜたりして、その色の変化を楽しんでいます。絵の具のついた手を、お友達につけないように気をつけて、楽しくたくさんのハンドプリントができました。色もとてもきれいですね。



The finished picture was the cut up into single hand prints which we made into the signs for our class booths.
乾かした後、ハンドプリントをはさみで切り離して、教室の飾りつけをします。

Last month's theme was "space" and this month's theme is "transportation and going places," so we launched a PET bottle rocket with the students!
In this picture, we are preparing for launch.
先月のテーマは宇宙。そして今月のテーマは乗り物！
というこで、ロケットの打ち上げ実験を行いました！発射に向けて準備、準備。




The PET bottle was filled 1/3 of the way with water, and then a bicycle pump was used to pressurize the bottle contents to ~40 PSI.
３分の１の水の入ったペットボトルが、自転車の空気いれのから送られる空気によって空高く飛び上がる仕組みです。


In this picture, the students are in the "r, r, rocket position" that we taught in one of our previous phonics lessons.
フォニックスでいつも楽しく r,r,rocket!!　とポーズを交えての活動をしていたので、この日もみんなでロケットのポーズ！




Countdown! "10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1...."
さーていよいよカウントダウンがはじまりましたよ！




Lift off! We pulled the trigger, and the rocket quickly shot up out of frame.
発射！！！！！！
みんな”キャーーーーーーー”と予想以上に高く、そしてすごい勢いで飛んでいったロケットにびっくり大興奮。
その後ポトンと砂場に帰ってきたロケットをみて、手をたたいて大笑いしていました！
