Frogs @高槻茨木校
Parent Helpers meet Dinosaurs
Our parent helpers came to meet the Frogs class last week. They helped the children put on their smocks and get ready for their activity. Little did they know they would meet dinosaurs!
今日のクラフトの時間は、今月のテーマにそって恐竜の足を作ります！！みんなでスモックを着て準備は万全！！まずはじめに、のりを使って足の爪を貼りつけます！
To prepare, I made the scenery while the students put together their dinosaur feet. This would require them to follow a series of steps in order to complete a project. This teaches them patience, not everything can be accomplished quickly. Later, they also got a chance to put their imaginations to work. First they needed a green base pasted on their feet. Next they needed toes. Finally, they would need a little help with this, they needed to put strings in the holes on their dinosaur feet that would act as stilts.
今日はクラスヘルパーで２人のお母さんが一緒に保育に参加してくださいました！！さぁみんな！お母さんの見ている前でかっこいい姿を見せられるかな！？
With the project nearly complete, the students were eager to put on their feet and tromp around the mud, logs, leaves, and hanging bushes that awaited them. Some students were more eager than others, but everyone was excited for a chance to put on their feet and walk.
仕上げに紐を通してパカパカの恐竜バージョンの完成です！！
Can you see? They became dinosaurs. We only could explore the landscape for a little while, since our craft took much longer than anticipated. So this week, we took a chance to use our imaginations again. After coloring on Wednesday, we put on our dinosaur feet and pretended to be big dinosaurs, scary dinosaurs, and practiced holding our stilts and moving about the room. We hope to use the scenery again as well for more realistic dramatic play.
最後に恐竜が生息していた時代の森を再現し、自慢の恐竜の足でロールプレイを楽しみました！！お母さん方、ご協力ありがとうございました！！子ども達にとってもとても楽しい日となりました！！

Rabbits @高槻茨木校
Dolls Festival
The Rabbits class had a lot of fun making "Hina Dolls" to celebrate the Dolls Festival. First we got coffee filter papers, and used colorful marker pens to draw decorations on "Kimonos" for the Prince and Princess.
３月３日のひな祭りに向けて、お雛様を制作しました。初めてにじみ絵に挑戦したRabbits class。まずは、水性マーカーで模様を描きました。
Then we sprayed water on top of the paper to make the colors run together, which looked beautiful. Using the spray lever was very good practice for using our finger muscles and for controlling the direction of the spray. The children concentrated really well, and enjoyed doing this very much.
次に、スプレーで水を吹きかけ絵をぼかします。この作業が楽しかったようで、とても集中して取り組んでいました。
We drew faces for our Princes and Princesses, and it was great to see how much everyone has improved in drawing the details. We also glued on the Prince's scepter and the Princess' fan. We think our Hina Dolls look wonderful !
最後に顔を描いて貼り付ければ出来上がり!! スプレーも上手に使うことができ、手先が器用に使える様子を沢山見ることができた制作でした。

The Monkey Sun Shine Project
This week in the Monkey class everyone created their own Sun! We
wanted to see how the children did with freeform cutting, and therefor were given blank sheets of yellow paper, and encouraged to try and cut out a large circle all by themselves! They did a great job, with many
different shapes and sizes coming out of their works.
Monkeyクラスは歌うことが大好きなのですが、最近のお気に入りの歌がYou Are My
Sunshineです。歌にちなんでオリジナルの太陽を作ることにしました！黄色の画用紙に自分で丸を書いて切りました。
To learn more about recycling, we took scrap paper from our scraps
box, and using our fingers, we tore the shapes we needed to decorate our suns with faces and rays.[
リサイクルを学ぶと同時に切った後の紙や少しだけ使った紙のあまりをちぎってデコレーションしていきました。
We arranged the shapes onto our circles to make the desired layout,
with every single sun looking very different from the next one! Time
for glue!
After the glue dried, we took crayons and finished the decoration of
our suns. We wrote ‘Miss You!’ on the backs of our suns, and signed
our names.
画用紙でのデコレーションが終わると次はクレヨンでもっともっと明るい太陽にしようとデコレーションしていきました。太陽の裏にはMISS
YOUと書いてサインもしました。
Every sun is different! Some children helped make 2 suns, because
these suns are gifts we made to give to the graduating KB class. When we give them to the KB Lions, we will sing a wonderful song, ‘You Are
My Sunshine’, where the Monkeys designed the dance by themselves!
今回のクラフトで作った太陽は、もうすぐ卒園するKBのお友達にプレゼントをします。いつも明るく優しいKBのお友達はMonkeysにとって世界にひとつの太陽と同じです。自分たちで考えたダンスと共にYou Are My Sunshineを歌って太陽をプレゼントします！！
