“Healthy Food and Nutrition”
Our students have been learning about the various foods we eat-both healthy as well as junk food. They had fun trying to classify or sort the healthy from the junk food based on the food name I call out or by the color and description of the food. We also practiced saying phrases such as, “I found it!” and “I did it” after accomplishing their task.
今日はヘルシーフードとジャンクフードについて学びました。「ヘルシーフードは体を強くするんだよ。ジャンクフードは食べ過ぎると歯が痛くなるんだよ」と話しました。すると、子ども達は大好きなアイスクリームやクッキーがジャンクフードだと知り、とても驚いたようでした。
Children learned how to wash their hands nicely. We wash our hands with a song. “Tops and Bottoms, Tops and Bottoms In Between, In BetweenAll around your hands, All around your hands Make them clean, Make them clean”
手についたバイ菌をやっつけるぞ！お外から帰ってきたみんなの手には、目に見えないバイ菌がたくさんいます。指の間もきれいに洗ってバイバイ! バイ菌！！

Frogs in December
今日はクリスマスツリーをかたどった色画用紙に様々な形に切り取った色鮮やかな紙を貼り付けるクラフトに挑戦します！！皆上手にのりの貼り付けをし終えました。デコレーションの色の組み合わせはこども達自身で考えます。どんな表現豊かな作品に仕上がるのでしょうかね！！
For November we made lots of healthy food. To get a hands on experience, first the students painted their paper tubes orange. It was a great way to get their hands dirty and into something fun.
今日はトピックの“healthy food”に伴い、人参のクラフトです。トイレットペーパーの芯を素手でオレンジ色に染めていきます。絵の具の感触がおもしろいのと素手をつかう開放感もかさなりこども達は大興奮！！
Once dried, the paper rolls were threaded with an orange yarn. Gabi helped the children to tie the yarn around, through the center and around one side to make a pulley loop.
Then to get the right texture, the kids shredded the green plastic to create leaves. And there you have carrots that the children can tug. It will grow as they pull. What an awesome carrot!
最後に葉っぱのところを色テープを引き裂いてデコレーション！！人参の完成です！！子ども達は自分で作った人参に達成感を感じることが出来ました！！
In December we learned all about Christmas and Christmas trees. To practice our shapes, and our decorating skills, the students pasted shapes into the marked spaces. They put stars on the tree, hearts, and fun Christmas decorations in all the shapes we’ve been learning about at circle time.
Decorated Christmas trees should be on display for the students to enjoy in the New Year.Have a very Happy Christmas and a wonderful New Year. See you in 2013!

スタッフの冬休み
あけましておめでとうございます！
皆様、冬休みはいかがお過ごしでしたでしょうか。
初日の出…では、ないのですが、静岡の富士山の側にいって参りました。
本年もよろしくおねがいいたします！

Staffの冬休み
東京観光に行ってきました。
実は生まれてから何十年と日本に住んでいますが、東京タワーに行ったことがなく（いつもディズニーランドに行って直行直帰ばかりでした）
今話題のスカイツリーに行く前にはやっぱり先に元祖を見ておかなければと思い行ってきました。
ライトアップされてとてもきれい！でした。
ジャジャーン！高さ634メートル とにかく大きいです！
スカイツリーから見た東京タワー 小さい。。。
夜は外から見ると東京タワーのほうが断然きれいでしたが、上からの夜景はやはりスカイツリーがすごい！というのが感想です。みなさんも機会があればぜひ行って見てください！見応えありです。

五十鈴川で清めます。
The nature is always beautiful!!
最後はやっぱり伊勢うどん。
Ise-udon was so tasty. I liked it!!
