Geckos 高槻茨木校
New Paints and Easel Fun!
Hello!! Hasn’t the weather gotten chilly? We hope you are all keeping warm as we head into winter.
With our summer festival profits, the Geckos purchased an easel that was just the right height for us, some fantastic water colour paints, and some wide paint brushes.
サマーフェスティバルでは保護者の皆様の多大なるご協力のもと、たくさんの利益を得ることができました。この売上金で、Geckosでは、固形の水彩絵の具・イーゼル・太い工作用筆を購入させていただきました。
The easel is the perfect height and width for us, and we will use it for painting and drawing, however we have also been using it for tracing in circle time! Ih this picture we have used the shape flashcards onto the easel and the children trace around the edge of the flashcard. It is a great activity not only for shape recognition but also fine motor and spatial skills, as well as social – the children learn about turn-taking and being patient while waiting for their name to be called.
サークルタイムでイーゼルが大活躍！まずは色んな形の紙をイーゼルに貼りつけ、それぞれの形をマーカーペンでなぞります。形の名前を英語で覚えている子どもたちは"Which one is a triangle/square/circle?"といった質問にもすぐに答えることができ、慎重にそれぞれの形をペンでなぞりました。
These are the outlines of the shapes after tracing, and the children are able to match the outlines with the original cards.
全員の番が終了し、なぞった型紙をはがすと…
みんながなぞった三角や四角の跡がイーゼルに浮かび上がり、子どもたちは大興奮でした！
Our water colour paints are fantastic, the colours are vibrant and easy to use! Although we have used water colours before, we have always painted with our fingers, with the focus being more on texture and experience.
However, with these new paints we used the brushes and concentrated hard on washing the brush when changing colours – not an easy thing to remember!!
水彩絵の具では、細い筆を使って紙に自由にお絵かきしました。ここでの大事なお約束は、一色使うたびにお水で筆を洗うという事です。今までにない色の絵の具を使えるという事がとても嬉しかったようで、いつもは大好きな青色ばかりを選ぶ子どもたちも、今回は様々な色を使う事を楽しんでいるようでした。
Not only did we need to wash the brush regularly, but we needed to be aware of how much water was getting on the paper, and how that affected the paint colour we had chosen. The children were also interested in the way the colour of the water changed each time they washed the brush, beginning with clear water, and ending with murky black or grey.
Some children enjoyed painting lines and squiggles, and some enjoyed mixing the colours on the paper!
The finished artworks look fantastic on the wall, brightening our classroom!! Each one is completely different from the others, reflecting their personalities and individuality!
ただの真っ白な紙が子どもたちの創造力によって、それぞれとても個性的な作品に仕上がりました。
On the day we used the new wide brushes, we put a big sheet of white butchers’ paper on the wall, rolled up the carpet, took off our socks, and rolled up our jeans. The wide paint brushes gave us the chance to use our whole bodies when painting, and have some fun!!!
工作用筆は、お家ではなかなかできないダイナミックなアートに使用しました。
スモッグを着用し、靴下をぬいで、ズボンの裾をめくりあげると準備完成！壁に貼りつけた大きな白い紙に向かって、みんなで一緒に太い筆で自由にお絵かきです。
水彩絵の具の筆とは太さも大きさも全く違うため、お絵かきするのにも力が要ります。腕を上下左右に動かしたり、低い位置にお絵かきする場合はしゃがんだりするため、創造力のみでなく、全身運動にもなりました。筆を順番に使ったり、お絵かきする場所をシェアすることで、お友だちとの関わり合いを持つこともできました。
Standing gave the children a whole different perspective, especially with such a large canvas. They enjoyed watching the paints trickle down the wall, and being able to paint on a surface that was as tall as they were.
We made a big mess! There was paint all over the floor and our feet, and some kids even ended up with paint in their hair!
手足はもちろんのこと、おでこや髪の毛にも絵の具がついても気にしません！みんなとても集中しながらも、普段ではなかなかできない体験を楽しんでいました。
The finished paintings are hanging on the wall in our classroom and in the lobby of the school. Please come and take a look!!

Nursery 千里丘校
We are singing “What did the Turkey sax on Thanks giving day?” this month.
This song is the one of children’s favorite songs. They sing the song all the time. Every turkey we made is different and original. We put the turkeys om our wall so, please come and see our classroom!
11月の収穫感謝祭では、Turkey（七面鳥）を食べる習慣があります。日本ではあまりなじみがありませんが、Nursery クラスのマットにはたくさんの動物が描かれていて、その中にTurkeyの絵もあります。子ども達は“ガボガボターキー”と言ってマネをし、とても人気のある動物です。今日はそんなターキーをスポンジを使って塗りました。顔を体は、子ども達のよく知っている形を使って作りました。

The Nature blocks are one at the two things which we bought with the profit from the summer festival. The blocks are made from larger varnish which gives a completely smooth finish which is good for sensory skills.

「Nature blocks」は、木の素材感を大切にした温かみのあるブロックです。本物の木で物づくりをしている、そんな気分を楽しめ、子ども達にも大人気です。
The rainbow block goes the opposite way. These blocks are brightly colored to stimulate the students visibly by using the different shapes and color patterns.
「Rainbow design blocks」は、レインボーカラーで色々な形がミックスされたブロックです。色や形を学びながら創造性豊かに様々な物をつくり、楽しく遊んでいます。

This month is healthy and living. We talk about the difficult food groups by using the food pyramids we were able to break them into their groups. And we also they learnt about the farms where our Rood comes from.
The class used them pyramids to ask each other questions of what they like and what they don’t like as they talk they then colored the food that they had asked the question about.
今月のテーマは「Healthy and living」です。“What kind food are good for the body?”と、みんなでフードピラミッドについて話し合いました。
We used food brochures as a craft activities having the students them up as a motor skill. Then working in small groups, they group all the food and had to ask another group what is this food.
たくさんの食べ物が載っている広告を見て、子ども達は大興奮!
Broccoli, Tomato, Chicken, Soup,などなど知っている食べ物がいっぱい！
“What do you say in English?” と質問しながら、たくさんの食べ物の名前について学びました。ハサミで切り分けた食べ物達を使って、今度はPre-Kクラスの大きなフードピラミッドを作る予定です。また、その写真も随時UPします！

Kinder A 千里丘校
As part of our monthly theme of food, we decided to make our lunch boxes.
We used a variety of skills to make these and tried to real what lovely food our parent’s made us for our resent field trip.
We finished off the craft with chopsticks and rubber band. Delicious!
遠足のお弁当がとても嬉しかった子ども達。今日は自分でおいしいお弁当を作りました。タコさんウィンナー、ハンバーグ、スパゲッティにおにぎり。もちろん野菜も入っています。お弁当箱に詰めると、子ども達の夢いっぱいの色鮮やかなお弁当が出来上がりました。保護者のみなさん、次回もおいしいお弁当をお願いしま～す♪
