Koalas 千里山田校
Thank you very much to the parents who helped out with the Koalas class booth from Yamada for Summer Festival.
The Koalas bought KAPLA blocks with the profits.
The Koalas enjoy making different things with the blocks!!

Takatsuki Reunion Party 2012
今年も各校でHalloween同窓会が行われました。
A feast of friends! We all enjoyed snacks while we caught up on what we are doing now; Playing soccer, practicing piano, watching TV in English…
懐かしい仲間と、お菓子やお茶を頂きながら近況報告をしています・・・サッカーしてるよ！ ピアノを習ってる！ 英語でテレビを見ているよ！
We took photos in groups, last year’s graduates and past years. We were so happy to see faces we haven’t seen in years and the lovely faces of the students keeping their English strong with our Advanced After School Program.
せっかく皆で思い思いのコスチュームを着て集まったので、記念撮影を行いました。相変わらずの顔が集まれば、自然と英語もどんどん出てきます。
We decorated a picture frame as a keepsake to hold on to the memories of our spooky and fun night.
記念写真を入れるフォトフレームを製作しました。ちょっと怖くてとっても楽しい皆との想い出が、またできましたね！
There were several games such as Halloween Charades, Pass the Pumpkin, and Spider Soccer; crawling around kicking a giant yoga ball into soccer goals.
ハロウィン・シャレードゲームや、かぼちゃパスゲーム、スパイダーサッカーでは、みんなでクモの様に動き、大きなボールを使ってのサッカーを楽しみました。
We hit piñatas full of prizes during a scary trick or treating through the haunted hallway and into the evil library. Throughout the games and even after the scariness we had a great time with our old friends!
その他ピニャータ割りや、こわ～いTrick or Treat にも挑戦しました。やっぱり旧友はいいですね、Mother’s Placeを含め、遠いところ、お忙しい中ご参加頂いて集ありがとうございました！とても楽しい時間を過ごせました！

Zebras 高槻茨木校
Making Playdough!
Wow, the Zebras have had a very busy October - Halloween, an excursion to the Shrine and fun with playdough! We always love playing with playdough so we though we will try to make it ourselves! We can understand what happens when you mix many different things together. It was so much fun!
We started with flour, oil, salt, water and a big orange bucket!
材料を大きなバケツに素材を入れる興味津々に見てくれていました。
We all touched the flour. The texture was very soft.
The salt felt different. It was rough!
小麦粉はサラサラしているのに、塩はザラザラなのはなぜ？
Oil felt funny! Very slimy!
What will happen when we mix it all together? Everyone had a turn to mix it - it was very sticky!
全部混ぜるとどうなるかな？
When it was all mixed together properly it became very soft and we could make anything we like.
White playdough is cool BUT coloured playdough is even more fun! We used food-safe colours to make our playdough super colourful!
色をつけると更に楽しさ倍増。
Yellow, pink, light-green and blue-green. We will play with it ALL the time!
いろんな色ができてみんな大興奮！！保存して使えるので何度も使って遊べます。
And we will learn so much.
指先のトレーニングにもなるので頭の運動になってます。

Takatsuki Plants Tulips 2012
本日は、雲行きを心配しながらのチューリップの球根植えでした。赤白黄の花が咲くのは、まだ遠い春です…。でも、その頃は小学校への旅立ちもあるんですよね。
毎年繰り返し行っているこの活動、特にＫＢクラスにとっては手順がしっかり頭に入っているようでした。水はけをよくするためにロックを敷き詰め、腐葉土を入れ球根をセンターに…寒い冬が越せるようにまた腐葉土でしっかりカバーします。
ＫＡクラスまでの子どもたちは、先生の説明を聞き、ひとつひとつの単語を頭に入れながら手順を確認します。
“What's inside of this Tulip Bulb?”の質問に “A caterpillar inside!”
や、“An onion!” などのかわいい答えも出てきていました。
そして、水やり…

Lions 高槻茨木校
KB Lions are ready for Halloween!
To help decorate our school, KB made 3D jack-o-lanterns. We began by drawing or folding lines on orange paper.
（3Dのジャックランタンを作りました。まずはオレンジの画用紙を折ったり、絵を描いたりというところから始めます）
After we drew our lines, we cut the pieces out nicely with scissors.
（ラインを引いて、そこをハサミで切っていきます）
Some of us drew pretty or scary designs on our pieces of paper!
（可愛いデザインや怖いデザインなど様々ですね）
We put all the pieces together nicely so we could clip them together with our teacher.
（1つ、1つを重ねて、とめていきます）
Our teachers helped us push a brass pin through the paper, then pull the pieces into a sphere.
（重ねた後はそれを広げてタンタンの形に仕上げます）
When we had our round pumpkin, we cut our scary eyes, noses and mouths to tape or glue on! After we put string on, we were all done! Some of us played with them like yo-yos.
（丸いかぼちゃができたら、怖い目、鼻、口を切り取りのりで張り付けていきます。みんな上手にできました！中にはヨーヨーの様に遊んでいた子もいましたね。）
